The Wicked Truth

The story in his own terms: Ecorse, the stage, the demon, and the work.

Built in the Detroit underground

Bake Lo is a Detroit-area underground hip-hop and horrorcore artist from Ecorse, Michigan. His lane brings hardcore delivery, dark visual language, and Juggalo-market underground energy into a sound he calls the Wicked Truth.

Born Charles Baker, he built his name on stage before anywhere else: high-energy performances, a hardcore delivery, and writing rooted in struggle, survival, and the dark side of underground rap culture. He describes his own sound as the Wicked Truth, and the demon identity runs through everything from the Demon God video to the bakelo_demongod handle and the Straight Jacket Demon line in the store.

By his own account he played his first show in 2011, sold every ticket he was handed, and went out on his first national tour at seventeen with Anybody Killa and Blaze Ya Dead Homie as Drive-By. Since then he has kept working the underground circuit and the road, and in 2026 he released Spirals, a fourteen-track full-length that the store describes as a powerful return marked by eight years of growth and raw storytelling.
